Your Baby's development is very rapid during the second month.
Baby's elbows, knees, fingers, toes and sexual organs start to develop, and all the major organs are developing (brain, lungs, liver, stomach).
A spinal chord has appeared and his bones begin to harden.

Like last month, you may experience mood swings, feel irritable and cry often. It is common to have a wide range of emotions at this time.
You may develop a sudden aversion to certain food like coffee.
Your baby can move around now, but you won't be able to feel it yet.
A healthy diet, proper exercise and extra rest will help you to have a healthy pregnancy. Avoid high impact exercises and discuss the topic with your doctor.
Remember, you are NOT eating for two, again discuss any queries you have about your diet with your doctor.
Avoid alcohol and smoking for the duration of the pregnancy.
Continue taking a folic acid supplement. Your doctor can subscribe this and any other supplements which are needed. Large doses of some vitamins can be dangerous during pregnancy. If you intend taking any additional vitamins discuss this with your doctor.
Do not take drugs, herbal remedies or medications that are not approved by your doctor.
Avoid being exposed to x-rays, lead, mercury and pesticides. If your job exposes you to any of these, discuss a temporary move with your employer.

Try and rest more during this month.
Eating small amounts more frequently may help if you are suffering from morning sickness.
Eat a variety of healthy foods from the following food groups : cerealsand grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat and beans.
Calcium is important during pregnancy, so eat cheese(not soft cheese), yogurt, milk, salmon, broccoli and leafy green veg.
