You should get to know the other members of the wedding group before the big day, get to know the bridesmaids, grooms men, the future husbands parents and family. Your input into the shower and celebrations is valuable because you know your daughter better than anyone. Be as supportive as you can be. The time before your daughter's wedding will be extremely stressful for her. If you can keep focused on her needs, as opposed to your own (not that we are diminishing the level of your own stress), you will be giving for the greatest gift. Much as you would like to be an active participant, and is difficult as it may be, try limiting the number of phone calls to your daughter, especially as the event grows near.
