Baby Showers

The aim of the baby shower is to shower the expectant parents with love and friendship. We have included some tips below to help make your shower a success.

Plan the baby shower

Determine how much you want to spend before you start organising anything. You will need to know how many people are coming for a start. Then you should keep in mind what theme, gifts and food/drink you want at the party. This will all go towards the party budget.

When you have a list of possible attendees, contact them to find out who are definitely coming, maybes and definitely not coming to the baby shower. One person should organise and co-ordinate with the party. If the shower is being held before the baby is born, planning should start about six weeks before the shower is due to take place.

Decide on a theme

The theme of the party will determine the decorations, the food and possibly the gifts that you choose for your baby shower. You should also keep in mind if the party will take place in the daytime or evening. The age range of the guests. Will there be grandparents and children, who will all want different things from the shower.

Invitations

Once you have decided on the theme and the date and location, then you can start working on the invitations. You can send out invitations or just phone your expected guests. Make sure you have a list of all the guests and record whether they can come or not.
